Jumping The Broom To Independence | Chronicle of a Former W2 Employee

Owning and operating your own business is not for the faint at heart. It takes more patience, tenacity, FAITH, and plain old fashioned hard work to start a business from scratch, and see yourself through the maze of obstacles and setbacks you will no doubt encounter along the way.

The Road to Small Business Ownership

I’ve decided to take that journey, and dive in head first straight into the cold icy waters of small business ownership. I’m no stranger and this is not my first rodeo in this arena, but it will be the first time I have the courage to see my way through the maze. I’m willing and ready to bump into all the walls that will feel like dead ends and impossibilities, but this time around I have my helmet and my knee pads on so if there are any falls along the way, (98% sure of it) I might just slightly get the wind knocked out of me, but I’ll get right back up and keep it moving forward.

Part of my journey is writing this post because I know I’m not on this journey alone. There are so many people who are currently trying to find their place in their respective fields of expertise that are contemplating giving up and going back into Corporate as a W2 employee, because the waters are so rough out here in Independent Land.  I would like to give a shout out to those ones and to send the message that there is nothing in the world like the taste of sweet independence (my faith is assuring me of this). If you love what you do, and the passion to be your own boss is so deep, I admonish you to stick with it, it's part of the initiation into that exclusive club of those ones who understand The Secret is real.

DON’T GIVE UP, SEE YOUR WAY THROUGH THE ROUGH PATCHES, BECAUSE THERE IS AN AMAZING GIFT AWAITING US THAT BYPASSES JUST BEING OUR OWN BOSS, THERE IS SO MANY MORE BENEFITS, IT’S TOTALLY WORTH ALL THE BRUISES AND SLEEPLESS NIGHTS. LET’S KEEP EACH OTHER MOTIVATED AS WE GO THROUGH THIS JOURNEY TOGETHER.
